This toolkit is aimed at teaching practice supervisors working on the NCE and Diploma teacher education programmes in Nigeria. It was developed by a group of educators from NCCE, NTI and TESSA at workshops held in Kaduna and Abuja in 2011-2012.

The toolkit contains a range of resources for supervisors to use to develop teaching and supervisory skills which are beneficial to the teaching experience of student teachers. The toolkit will also help supervisors encourage the integration of TESSA materials into the teaching practice experience.

The toolkit can be downloaded or printed as a single document or as individual tools. It is not intended to be a book which is read from cover to cover, but rather treated as a collection of tools which can be used to address certain challenges which occur in the process of teaching practice supervision. The tools are listed below and they can be accessed in any order.

The Teaching Practice Supervisors’ Toolkit is an Open Educational Resource (OER) and can be edited or adapted by users. We welcome feedback from those who read and make use of the toolkit.
